It's the weekend, so not much news, especially since our doctor is off this weekend, and the other doctor is on. Usually this means more of a "holding pattern" until Monday.
Alec did start fotification today with the Enfamil. He has had a few "spits" through his mouth only, not nose, and so far so good...knock on wood. I am very aware that Alec lasted 24 hours on the Similac brand though, so I'm "cautiously optimistic". He is QUITE the eater. He just eats and eats and eats! All feeds by mouth, no G-Tube for Alec. He woke up today before his feeding HUNGRY. And he ate all of his feeding. His minimum is 48, and she put 50 in his bottle. He drank it all...and still acted hungry. She talked with the doctor who was already on the phone, and she said Alec could eat as much as he wanted, so she made another 10, and he sucked it all down, so 60 cc (2 oz!). Big big boy!!!
Alec is still in the isolette. She said that he is a little cold when on his back and gets warm when on his tummy. SO...they've found that if they wrap him loosly on his back, he does well. Goofy boy.
Evan is also eathing like a CHAMP today. She said he took ALL his bottles all day. Well, last feeding she had to put 5 cc's down his tube. When I was there, he only took 35 cc for me though. Sassy boy! But, the news is good, he's doing GREAT!
And in even MORE exciting news, the boys have gained two days in a row! I'll put their weights on the left! Woo hoo! I'm going to talk with the doctor about whether it's necessary to fortify Evan at all, if he keeps gaining.... Wouldn't it be GREAT if he didn't NEED it afterall??? His tummy is SO SO sensitive...
So today was a good news day. Praying for Alec to continue to do well and tolerate the Enfacare, and for both to gain weight, and both to continue to eat well!!!!
